Rumors have started to circulate that Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Boys, Mandolorian) has been in talks with Marvel Studios about playing a role in an upcoming Marvel flick. Those rumors included details suggesting that Esposito could be our next Charles Xavier and as it turns out, not only is that true that he has been in talks for the role but he is also being considered for X-Men villain Magneto and even more surprising, Doctor Doom as well.
Apparently, in a recent panel caught on camera by TikTok user @CountdownCityGeeks, Giancarlo Esposito had a lot to say, including that he has been in talks with Marvel Studios about working with them at some point. Here is what he is quoted saying in case you are unable to listen to or watch the video below.
“I have not worked for Marvel yet. I’ve been in a room with them and talked to them… So, there’s been talk of Magneto… Who else has there been talk about over there? Oh, Doom, Doctor Doom! And then there is… Professor X.“
“I’m going to go for something that is a little bit different. I’m going to go and put it out in the universe that it is Professor X.”

The roles that Esposito mentions are all but perfect for him, from Magneto to Dr. Doom, to Prof. X but especially Prof. X. Each of those roles are not likely to be seen played by anyone for some time as no movie on Marvel Studios’ current schedule include anything involving the X-Men (that we know of) and we will have to wait until 2025 for the Fantastic Four. However, it is possible that we may see one of them sooner with rumors suggesting that Victor von Doom may appear in Wakanda Forever in a post-credits scene.
There is no doubt in our minds that Giancarlo Esposito could knock it out of the park as Magneto or Doom but we hope he becomes our new Charles Xavier/Prof. X because, as it stands, we can’t think of a single better choice to take over the role from Patrick Stewart.
