From the Creators of Death Note, ‘Platinum End’ Anime Coming to Crunchyroll

During the SDCC @ Home panel, specifically the Crunchyroll Virtual Industry Panel, it was revealed that Platinum End is getting an anime adaptation that will stream exclusively to Crunchyroll this fall with 24 episodes ordered for its first season.

The story follows a student named Mirai Kakehashi who attempts suicide but is saved by a literal angel named Nasse. Nasse tells Mirai that he is one of 13 who has been selected to replace God who is planning to retire in 999 days. Not wanting to get involved with such affairs, Mirai expresses disinterest but the other 12 chosen will stop at nothing to take over and become the single most powerful being in the known universe.

Written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, Platinum End was a manga series created by these two original creators of Death Note and was first released back in 2015 running until 2021.
