Elden Ring’s First Major Expansion “Shadow of the Erdtree” Revealed

Early this morning, the official Elden Ring Twitter account revealed what we have all been hoping for- the next big adventure in the smash-hit RPG. The expansion, which is called ‘Shadow of the Erdtree’ has no other details surrounding its title reveal other than the accompanying concept art, which you can see for yourself in the announcement post below.

We do not know the release window for Shadow of the Erdtree but fans can expect that it will be available on all major game console platforms as well as PC. Regardless, the reveal of this new expansion comes just under a week following the announcement that publisher Bandai-Namco that the base game has sold well over 20 million copies globally, no small feat to be sure.

DLC was inevitable for Elden Ring, due to its overwhelming critical acclaim and widespread success in sales. Developer FromSoftware has no doubt been hard at work on this expansion for some time but it may be further out than we realize. That said, we can’t wait to jump back into this incredible world once more. The Lands Between are calling our names…
