After what feels like ages, Bethesda has finally announced that Doom Eternal will be available on the Nintendo Switch in just eight days. Rumors from earlier pointed towards Bethesda only selling the game digitally instead of a physical edition and the studio has confirmed this.
Retailers will be selling an eShop code which can be used to download the game and according to Bethesda it’ll only require just over 18GB of space on your Nintendo Switch.
Both the original single-player campaign and the Battlemode multiplayer will be offered on the Switch. However, the first part of the Ancient Gods DLC will not be available until sometime later in 2021. You can expect Bethesda to release a definitive release date once they’ve completed the project.
You will have until December 23 to redeem your game code if you’ve purchased Doom Eternal through a retailer to be eligible for any preorder bonuses which were offered with the physical version of the game. This includes a copy of Doom 64 as well as in-game items. If you’ve purchased Doom Eternal directly from the Eshop before the same date don’t worry, the extras will be automatically redeemed to your account.
Doom Eternal will be available on the Nintendo Switch December 8 and is available on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia.
