That way the surprise of the announcement generates more income when the movie is released in the long run. But unfortunately for Lionsgate, it seems that Josh Hutcherson dropped the ball last Thursday night when he and his costars Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth stopped by Conan after their Comic-Con panel.
Conan asked the main cast of The Hunger Games, “There’s been talk will there be a sequel or a prequel? Where are you on that?” to which Josh Hutcherson responded with, “There is. Oh!” after Jennifer Lawrence struggled to come up with an answer. Jennifer Lawrence then gave Josh a look that definitely screamed, “Dude! You weren’t supposed to say that!”. Meanwhile, Liam Hemsworth just shook his head and laughed at it all.
The news about Josh Hutcherson’s slip up immediately went viral and there were multiple videos on the internet showing what had happened. However, the only current video that can be viewed now that shows what went down on Conan is on Yahoo. Even TeamCoco, Conan‘s own website doesn’t show the video anymore. It could be that Lionsgate requested that the video be taken down to stop any further spreading of the news. At this point, we’ll just have to wait and see.
The Hunger Games, Mockingjay Part II arrives in theaters on November 20th, this fall.
