Wait ’til you get a load of Deadpool’s buddies.

[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]fter the news that Deadpool was getting a sequel, thoughts have already been turning to who we might see in Deadpool 2.

Since it was thanks to leaked test-footage that we found out the film was happening in the first place, it has almost become something of a tradition with Deadpool that we learn about key developments in this way.

In-keeping with this trend, it was recently revealed (via Cosmic Book News) that Cable will feature in the sequel, thanks to leaked post-credit footage. Deadpool returns on-screen in a bathrobe, and informs us that Cable will be popping along for the second movie:

The sequel? We’re gonna have Cable. Amazing character – bionic arm, time travel… We have no idea who we’re gonna cast yet but it could be anybody.

Cable featured in a whole comic book series that lasted for over four years (Cable and Deadpool), in which he had a rather hilarious love-hate relationship with Wade Wilson. Their relationship is sure to be an absolute treat in the sequel, with lots of opportunities for more comedy.

As the son of Cyclops and Jean Grey’s clone Madelyne Pryor, Cable is outfitted with the bionic arm, and he can time-travel, opening up the door for some very fun and neat plot devices for the sequel to mess around with.

Cable was also the leader of X-Force – the more aggressive superhero task force that are an off-shoot of X-Men – so naturally it could be possible that they would be involved in the movie too.

Ryan Reynolds certainly seems to be on board with the idea, and mentioned featuring X-Force in an interview with German movie site FilmStarts, where he expressed his desire to get them in on a future Deadpool project:

If we’re doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we’re gonna really explore the X-Men a lot. And maybe X-Force. X-Force is really my priority. I really want to get that in.

If Reynolds wants it, there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing them.

Lastly, everyone wants to see Wolverine get in on the action.

Given that Hugh Jackman and Reynolds are emanating some serious bromance vibes lately, surely Jackman would be on board. Especially since Jackman has been posting Wolverine-related jokes directed at Reynolds on his instagram account:

Reynolds definitely wants it to happen too, which was clearly evident in an interview with Newscom.au:

Is your old mate Wolverine — aka Hugh Jackman — going to pop up in Deadpool?

God I hope so, that would be really nice. I dunno, we’ll see. It seems like he’s open to it, but it’s gonna be more of a scheduling issue than anything else.

We hope so too. Wolverine was also involved with X-Force, so it would all fit together quite nicely.

See, it could happen…Please let it happen!

Let’s hope Wolverine will be a confirmed guest in Deadpool 2, which is said to be released sometime in 2017!
