Even though the franchise has yet to begin, the idea of Deadpool 2 looks encouraging to FOX!
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]e still have a long while until Deadpool comes out, but apparently, there are already talks of a sequel for the superhero movie. Yes, that’s right, FOX is already having talks of Deadpool 2 entering the Marvel Universe. One person that is in the middle of these talks is Director Simon Kinberg.
Kinberg has been deeply involved in the superhero universe, creating and producing X-Men: Days of Future Past, as well as X-Men: Apocalypse. He also co-wrote and produced Fantastic Four and he’s also involved in producing Deadpool and Gambit.
The Deadpool trailer has, for the most part, impressed fans of the movie and can’t wait to see what the full project looks like when it comes out next year. When Collider’s Steve Weintraub interviewed Kinberg about his movie, The Martian (which Kinberg produced), the conversation briefly went into what Kinberg thought of the Deadpool rough cut and if there are any talks of a sequel.
Kinberg did say that there were ideas being thrown around about a sequel on set, but he said that he is unaware of any decisions being made for a Deadpool 2 movie. But it is encouraging that despite the first Deadpool movie not even being released yet, FOX is looking to extend the franchise. Check out the interview with Kinberg below!
