Ever since Disney acquired Twentieth Century Fox Deadpool fans have been wondering whether or not the Merc with a Mouth would be joining the MCU. And, if so, would his third film keep it’s beloved R-rating?

Turns out fans can breathe a sigh of relief. In an interview with the Collider Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige cleared tings up. You can read his full statement on Deadpool 3 below:

“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now… It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

With filming planned to begin in 2022 it’s safe to say we can expect a release date for sometime in 2023. At least we have Thor 4, Spider-Man 3, Doctor Strange 2, Black Panther 2 and Captain Marvel 2 to tide us over until then.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
