[dropcap size=small]M[/dropcap]icrosoft has recently announced the pre-order rewards for Dead Rising 4, three weapons and one vehicle. Microsoft has also decided to use a different marketing scheme for the game and have four different vendors have four different pre-order exclusives. Essentially where you buy the game is going to decide what reward you will get. The four vendors chosen to have the different pre-order rewards are Gamestop, Best Buy, Amazon, and the Microsoft Store. You can view the different bonuses below.
The Best Buy pre-order reward is called the Candy Cane Crossbow and will naturally be a weapon that shoots candy canes. The Amazon pre-order reward is called the Slicecycle and it will be an assault vehicle. The Gamestop pre-order reward is called the Steampunk Snowman Head and it is a helmet that can fire snowballs at enemies. Last, but not least, is the Microsoft Store pre-order reward that is called the X-Fist and it is a mechanical suit with large green hands.
It will be interesting to see if this different marketing scheme will increase pre-order numbers for the game. With more and more players being cautioned to wait until reviews are out for games, will these enticing pre-order exclusives be enough to change the tide. We will just have to wait and see.
Dead Rising 4 is expected to be out for the holiday season for Xbox One and PC.
