Anime aficionados have reason to celebrate as HIDIVE reveals that the much-loved fantasy action series, DanMachi—Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, will make a grand return for its fifth season as part of the Fall 2024 simulcast lineup. This upcoming season will stream exclusively on HIDIVE, the anime platform under AMC Networks, and will be accessible to viewers in the U.S., Canada, and international markets including the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
Season 5 of DanMachi—Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is inspired by the acclaimed light novel series by Fujino Omori and is set to debut during the 10th anniversary year of the novel series. To mark the occasion, HIDIVE has unveiled the first-ever English teaser for the new season on its official YouTube channel.

The narrative continues with the Goddess Festival, a vibrant event in the labyrinthine city of Orario where deities symbolizing fertility are honored. Among these divine beings is the Goddess of Beauty. Bell Cranel, having returned from the perilous dungeon depths, is ready to enjoy the festival’s festivities. However, a letter from a girl at a local bar in Orario changes his plans: “To Mr. Bell, please go on a date with just the two of us at the upcoming Goddess Festival. From Syr.” Syr’s unwavering determination sets both Bell and the city abuzz. Meanwhile, the warriors known as the Einherjar, who proclaim themselves as the “strongest,” begin to stir…
Adapted from Fujino Omori’s light novel series, which has grown to nineteen volumes since its launch in January 2013, DanMachi—Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? features illustrations by Suzuhito Yasuda and is published in English by Yen Press. The new season is directed by Hideki Tachibana, with writing contributions from Fujino Omori and Hideki Shirane, character design by Shigeki Kimoto, and production by J.C.Staff. The Japanese voice cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Bell Cranel, Inori Minase as Hestia, and Shizuka Ishigami as Syr Florva.
