Arrow spoiler alert! Proceed with caution.
As the fourth season of Arrow chugs along, fans have been wondering if a certain former sidekick would find his way back to Starling City.
Well, it now looks like Roy Harper, aka Arsenal, will return to Arrow later this season.
The news was confirmed through Colton Hayes’ (Arsenal himself) Twitter, who revealed shooting has just begun for his guest role.

Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim also voiced his excitement in a press statement by saying, “We are beyond thrilled that Colton will be returning to Arrow this season. It was always our intention to have him return following his departure last season, but it was a matter of finding the right storyline to pull it off.”
Guggenheim also revealed that this storyline would unfold in episode 12, which won’t air until after the upcoming season winter break.
We last saw Roy Harper leaving Starling City and taking up a new identity after framing himself as Arrow.
This decision was partially due to Roy’s guilt for accidentally killing a cop earlier in season three, and wanting a fresh start.
Before leaving, Roy gives his Arsenal suit to his old girlfriend, Thea, who now wears it under the codename Speedy.
We’re excited to see Roy return, and equally excited to see how this will shake up Team Arrow.
For example, Thea hasn’t exactly been herself since her resurrection, so it will be interesting to see what happens when these former lovers reunite.
Arrow airs Wednesdays on The CW.
