ONE PIECE Fest opened its doors on August 25th in Los Angeles, and the numbers surrounding this event tell you everything you need to know about the size of the fanbase that showed up to support it. When the festival was announced back in late April, the ticket lottery drew nearly 500,000 entries for a two day event, which is a figure that puts into immediate perspective just how badly people wanted to be inside this building.

The event runs through August 26th and holds the distinction of being the largest One Piece location based entertainment experience ever produced outside of Japan, a title that becomes more impressive the longer you sit with it.

The timing of the festival is deliberate and well chosen, launching directly on the heels of ONE PIECE DAY ’26, this year’s annual One Piece celebration in Japan, which itself delivered a bombshell announcement in the form of a super teaser revealing two future One Piece films. ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY is coming in 2027, and ONE PIECE FILM BAAD is set for 2029, meaning the franchise just laid out a multi year cinematic roadmap for a global audience that was already paying close attention.

The festival itself is built around Cosm’s shared reality concept, centered on The Dome, an 87 foot diameter LED structure housing a 5,000 square foot 12K by 10K display that functions as the visual centerpiece of the entire experience. Across 95,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, Toei Animation has recreated all 19 arcs of the One Piece anime, from East Blue all the way through Elbaph, each transformed into its own immersive environment with distinct activations and interactive experiences unique to that arc.

Every guest receives a map upon entry and then navigates the whole thing at their own pace, in whatever order they choose, which means no two people are having the exact same day inside this festival.

The range of activations on offer is staggering. GEAR5 and Sabaody Lounge sit alongside Usopp’s Target Range, the Davy Back Fight Punching Machine, Shanks’ Straw Hat Donning experience, and Zoro’s Three Sword Style, and that list is explicitly described as just a few of the available options across the full festival footprint.

Live panels, musical performances, screenings, photo opportunities, installations, and exhibitions round out the programming. The ONE PIECE Bazaar, a licensed merchandise market featuring event exclusives across collectible figures, toys, trading cards, drinkware, apparel, and more, gives attendees somewhere to leave a significant portion of their disposable income on the way out.
