Excitement and humor await shonen fans next season with the announcement that the new romcom drama series 2.5 Dimensional Seduction will stream exclusively this summer on HIDIVE, AMC Networks’ popular anime streaming service. Celebrating the world of cosplay, 2.5 Dimensional Seduction is not just a romcom; it’s also a serious teen drama about passionate teenagers overcoming their worries and dilemmas to become the best cosplayers they can be.
Based on the widely read manga series by Yu Hashimoto, 2.5 Dimensional Seduction is the latest addition to HIDIVE’s growing lineup of simulcasts for its Summer 2024 season. Before the series premieres in July, HIDIVE will host the North American debut of Episode 1 on July 4 at Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles, Calif.
“We’re thrilled to announce 2.5 Dimensional Seduction as the newest exclusive series to join HIDIVE’s simulcast lineup this summer,” said John Ledford, President of HIDIVE. “Cosplay is synonymous with anime, and fans will now have a chance to celebrate it with this exciting new romcom drama!”
“I have no interest in real girls!” claims Okumura, the president of the school’s manga club. He’s a typical otaku, obsessed with a sexy (fictional) 2D manga character named Liliel. Then, the new school year begins, and a (real!) 3D girl named Ririsa, whose passion is cosplay, joins the club. Ririsa convinces Okumura to become her photographer—and guess who her favorite manga character is? Not only that, but Ririsa is into modeling the fetishy stuff! The boundaries between 2D and 3D start to blur as this lively romantic comedy unfolds.
2.5 Dimensional Seduction is adapted from the manga by Yu Hashimoto, which launched in June 2019 and is serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+. The English version is published by Seven Seas Entertainment. The anime is directed by Hideki Okamoto, written by Takao Yoshioka, and produced by J.C.Staff.
