Guardians of the Galaxy was the only film over the weekend to earn double digit millions, $10m domestic if we want to get technical, which adds on to a pile of $586m worldwide. The Marvel success has been in theaters for six weeks now and has been in the number one spot for five of them. The question that currently begs asking is: What film is going to finally knock the Guardians out of the top? My money’s on Dolphin Tale 2.
Coming in at number two is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, which was still able to earn a respectable $6m domestic for a total of $300m worldwide.
Moviegoers continue to enjoy paying to cry, as the Chloe Grace Moretz led drama If I Stay brought in $5.8m domestic, putting it in at number three.
At number four, earning roughly $5.4m domestic, Let’s Be Cops is still managing to entertain audiences with its immature brand of humor.
After it’s second week in theaters, Pierce Brosnan’s action-packed film GoldenEye Tomorrow Never Dies The World Is Not Enough Die Another Day The November Man barely managed to stay in the top five. The film is met with mixed (but negative-leaning) reviews from critics. However, the film was able to bring in $4.2m domestic worth of earnings.
