Destiny 2 players have been begging Bungie for cross platform play well before the game was even released. With a large player base across multiple consoles the demand has always been high, especially after Epic Games’ FortNite became the first game to offer cross-play. With players begging to squad up and knock out raids together it only was a matter of time before Bungie caved.
But it won’t be happening in 2020 unfortunately.
In a developer blog post, Bungie shared a list of planned updates it had for Destiny 2 in 2021. While cross-play was among the list of updates there was no specific date listed meaning it could be months before it’s offered.
On the bright side of things the developer did confirm the return of the Vault of Glass Raid, DDOS protection for console players, Devil’s Lair strikes, and the Fallen S.A.B.E.R. In addition to this, Bungie will be expanding Legendary and Master Lost Sector rotation to include Lost Sectors on the moon and three new pieces of Exotic armor.
Destiny 2 is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
