From Vaulted Sky Games comes one of the coolest game concepts we have seen in a long, long time. We have watched the development progress for a while now and we are eager to get into the role of either a spooky specter that haunts and torments the hunter.

Midnight Ghost Hunt looks like Luigi’s Mansion on steroids combined with Prop Hunt, the game mode in TF2 and Garry’s Mod, which the dev team says was a major inspiration for their design and gameplay choices. They add that while the core concept is similar, the twist is that “the props can fight back”.

Running on Unreal Engine 4, you can expect some top-notch physics and visuals, which will be even more noticeable as Epic Games provided a dev grant to indie developers resulting in a lot of cash that aided independent developers in making their games, something that Vaulted Sky managed to benefit from. The good news on that front is that the grant went to developers who work in Unreal Engine and is not something that will lock in some sort of permanent exclusivity deal. This means that while Midnight Ghost Hunt may end up on The Epic Games Store, you will still be able to pick it up on Steam.

As of now, there isn’t an exact date of release but if you head over to the MGH Discord server, you can stay in touch with the community to get more information on it as it comes. It’s also a good way to get involved by signing up for the Alpha and providing feedback to the Vaulted team in preparation for later releases and updates.
