Finally. Finally, it is happening.
According to developer Wolfram Von Funck (WOL_LAY), Cube world will be released on Steam within the next month or two.

This is massive news for a community that has been waiting for 6+ years for updates or news on what is happening with Cube World.
Many will recall that several years ago, Cube World was available for play on early-alpha access before being pulled by Von Funck himself for additional work. Every now and again, the developer would post tidbits on updates keeping hope alive that the game would eventually be released. However, if you browse the /r/CubeWorld subreddit or are apart of the Cube World Discord (which is tied to the subreddit), you will clearly see that many have lost hope while others are barely hanging on. And now, we got the confirmation that it could be just a matter of weeks before the game is ready to go for play once more.
What you may not know is, is that Wolfram and his partner (wife) developed this game entirely on their own. As far as we can tell, Wolfram may be working on it solo (or his partner is just quietly working on the side), developing the whole game and its music from scratch.
At this time, we do not know if the game is releasing on Steam’s early access in Alpha, Beta, or Master release. But we know it is coming soon, and we could not be happier.
The discord server is a great source for any and all information related to the game (as is the subreddit). So if you are looking for reasons to get hyped, go check them out and be sure to visit the official Steam page (which I linked below) and add the game to your wishlist. This game is amazing fun (we played the early Alpha six years ago), and we could not be more excited that it is finally getting released.
Wolay also confirmed that owners of the Alpha (people who paid for it, not pirated) will get Steam keys as well to download the game.
