The next film in the MCU (NOT Avengers: Endgame) is rapidly approaching, and that means plenty of promotion. Captain Marvel recently got a cool new trailer, and now there are 10 new posters showcasing the film’s characters.
But first, here’s the film’s official synopsis:
Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.
Up first is Captain Marvel herself, Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson.
Jude Law plays the leader of Starforce, the Kree military team Danvers is a part of. We currently don’t officially know who he plays, but it’s presumably Mar-Vel, the original Captain Marvel who trains Danvers.
Sam Jackson is of course Nick Fury, now digitally de-aged for the 90’s time period (and with hair!).
Clark Gregg is our boy Phil Coulson, finally returning to the MCU (digitally de-aged, and with more hair)!
Lashana Lynch is Maria Rambeau, a friend of Danvers and fellow Air Force pilot.
Djimon Hounsou reprises his role of Korath from Guardians of the Galaxy, now as a member of Starforce.
Gemma Chan is Minn-Erva, a Starforce member and Kree sniper.
Veteran actress Annette Bening plays a currently unknown Kree scientist who is responsible for making Danvers part Kree and giving her powers.
Hollywood go-to bad guy Ben Mendelsohn is Talos the shapeshifting Skrull. I wonder if he’s the villain?
And last but certainly not least is Goose the cat, Danvers’ pet. Goose is an orange tabby cat with green eyes and I hope he’s a good boy. I also hope he saves the day in Avengers: Endgame. I think about Goose a lot.
Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8.
