Marvel Studios has finally gotten to work on the highly anticipated Black Widow film.
Marvel Studios has always done an extensive amount of work when it comes to finding the right director for each of their films. So when you consider the fact that there were 70 directors interviewed for the chance to direct the much coveted Black Widow film, and then it was narrowed down to just three directors with Cate Shortland winning, you know the film is in good hands.
Cate Shortland has a great track record when it comes to films, albeit a short one. Her last film, Lore, was very well received by fans and critics alike with Rotten Tomatoes giving the film a 94% rating make it certified fresh. With that said, it makes sense Marvel Studios would entrust her with creating a film that will see Scarlett Johansson reprise her role as the MCU’s most famous assassin.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Black Widow will take place before the first Avengers movie and there is no official release date at this time.
