[dropcap size=small]R[/dropcap]ecently, Dwayne Johnson sat down for an interview with Total Film regarding his upcoming Hercules film (which releases this Friday), and one very interesting bit of conversation sparked when Johnson was asked about his potential involvement with a DC Comics film. After being asked, Johnson paused to gather his thoughts and shared this:
“I will say this. There’s a character out there that we’re going to announce very soon that I’m going to play. This character has the power of Superman, he can throw down… Just say the word. That’s all I’m going to say” (laughs).
As to what exactly this means, is anybodies guess; though we do know for certain it will not be John Stewart/Green Lantern as some reports may have initially suggested. Be that as it may, there is one or two particular characters that The Rock could have been eluding to, as there are not many well-known heroes enough to get their own big screen adaptation that can rival Superman’s strength. Who might they be, you ask? Well, it could very well be Shazam/Captain Marvel or his villainous arch-nemesis, Black Adam, both of whom are granted powers that easily rival the strongest within the DC Universe by uttering the word “Shazam”.
