We were so close to getting a conclusion to Hellboy’s story.
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]hile the news of a Hellboy reboot was very exciting to hear with Stranger Things star David Harbour attached to the role as the lead character, you can never really replace the first two Hellboy films. Both films quickly became popular as time went on and Hellboy star Ron Perlman was pushing for a third and final film for some time. However, once news broke that a reboot was on the way the chances of a third installment in the franchise are essentially zero.
Speaking at the Motor City Comic Con in Novi, Michigan actor Ron Perlman shed light on the premise for the third and final (at the time) Hellboy film.
“The third one was meant to be epic and conclusive and a resolve for all these, almost, Greek oracle promises of the destiny of Hellboy. It would’ve made for a really good movie, I think.“
Luckily, it seems Ron Perlman has given David Harbour his blessing to be the next Hellboy, saying, “David Harbour is a good dude. I wish him nothing but the best when it comes to the retooling of Hellboy.”
