Never say never, right?
[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]ustralian actor Hugh Jackman has made it abundantly clear to fans that he has washed his hands/claws clean of the Wolverine role following the release of Logan. But that doesn’t mean he can’t make an appearance in Deadpool 2, right? After all, Deadpool used a People‘s magazine cut out of Hugh Jackman to hide his face towards the end of Deadpool so technically Hugh Jackman does exist in Deadpool’s own universe.
The idea for Hugh Jackman to make an appearance in Deadpool 2 happened after an interviewer for The Hollywood Reporter made the suggestion to screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese who’s film Life was just released in theaters. Rhett Reese absolutely loved the idea himself saying:
“Oh my gosh, that’s one we haven’t heard. That’s not a bad idea. I like that. Deadpool lives in a world where Hugh Jackman is out there. He’s got the People’s Sexiest Man Alive cover that he staples to his forehead in the first movie, so maybe he could meet Hugh as Hugh. That would be really funny.”
Hopefully, this means we’ll see a comical but witty cameo from Hugh Jackman himself in Deadpool 2.
Deadpool 2 is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2018.
