Maybe we’ll see the Merc with a Mouth team up with X-23?
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]hat could have possibly been the greatest opportunity for 20th Century Fox is now no longer a possibility. With Hugh Jackman stepping down from his role as the one and only Wolverine, fans were hoping that the actor would at least stick around to appear in the upcoming Deadpool 2 film or in the upcoming X-Force film. Sadly, Hugh Jackman denied this during a live event on Facebook.
“No, and Ryan is currently sleeping outside my house. [Laughs] Look, if that movie had appeared 10 years ago, probably a different story, but I knew two and a half years ago that this was the last one. The first call I made was to [Logan director James Mangold]. I said, ‘Jim, I got one more shot at this,’ and as soon as Jim came up with the idea and we worked on it, I was never more excited. But, it feels like the right time. Deadpool, go for it man, do your thing. You don’t need me.”
While there are reports that there is a special scene in the beginning of Logan and that both Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are involved this seems unlikely. The timeline from where Deadpool ended and where Logan begins are two very different places.
Hugh Jackman has hung up the claws so to speak and the actor feels like it is his time to move on. Even the greatest actors eventually have to step down from the role that seems to have been made specifically for them. Hugh Jackman has done it and at some point, Robert Downey Jr., Ryan Reynolds, and others will have to do so as well.
