But will the X-Men return?

After a week of speculation, the fourth game in a classic fighting crossover series has been officially announced.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is coming in 2017.

Check out the trailer below.

In the teaser we see Ryu and X take on Iron Man and Captain Marvel in a beautiful cinematic. We weren’t shown an actual in-game match, but gameplay is set to debut tonight during the Street Fighter tournament at PSX.

Earlier this week, there was a number of supposed “leaks” indicating a fourth MvC game was happening. A number of these leaks were debunked, but Polygon confirmed that a new entry in the series was indeed coming.

The outlet also reported that the game would not feature Marvel characters outside of the MCU, meaning the X-Men and Doctor Doom. Unfortunately, these characters were no where to be seen in the trailer we got, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Till then, fans can get there fix with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, coming to the PS4 via PlayStation Network later today. This game was initially released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011, but Capcom loosing the Marvel license prevented the game from being sold on Xbox Live and PSN since 2013.

So be sure to play as Wolverine, Magneto, and Deadpool while you still can! (Maybe!)

*As indicated in the description box for the above video, it looks like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is heading to Xbox One and PC in March 2017!
