Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige reveals details regarding Black Panther and Captain Marvel
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith the hype surrounding Marvel Studios’ soon to be released Doctor Strange it is easy to forget that Marvel has several other upcoming films in the future that are equally as exciting. One great film that everyone should be excited about is is Marvel’s Captain Marvel. Granted, the film isn’t due to be released in theaters on March 8th, 2019 but we finally have news regarding Marvel’s version of their very own Supergirl.
Ever since Brie Larson released a photo of herself on Twitter wearing a Marvel Studios baseball cap with a comment that said, “Call me Captain Marvel” there really hasn’t been any news regarding the flying superheroine. Luckily, all that has changed thanks to an interview with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Cinemablend before the special 15-minute screening of Doctor Strange in Los Angeles. According to Kevin Feige, not only will Captain Marvel be an origin story but Black Panther’s standalone film will give us a good look at T’Challa and his country of Wakanda.
“[Black] Panther is not really an origin story, since we saw him already in Civil War. But his standalone certainly introduces you to 99% of his world that you never saw. And Captain Marvel is certainly an origin. It’s an origin story from the start.”
It is exciting to hear that Captain Marvel will be an origin story considering she is one of the lesser known superheroes and is a key ally that the Avengers will need in their battle against Thanos. With two talented female screenwriters and a superb actress, Captain Marvel is bound to be one exciting film.
Captain Marvel opens in theaters on March 8th, 2019.
