You could call this a happy occasion.
[dropcap size=small]F[/dropcap]irst we received the wonderful news that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark would appear in the upcoming and rebooted Spider-Man: Homecoming and now we have Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan? Could Spider-Man: Homecoming get any better? Doubtful.
With word out that he would be making a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe Jon Favreau sat down with Yahoo to discuss his return to the screen and he seems to be just as thrilled with the news as we all are.
“It allows me to maintain the relationship with the MCU, but also to do other things that are interesting that are outside of that genre and that set of characters…Especially when the filmmakers are taking care of you, and taking care of the characters and the story. If you’re in good hands, it’s great to come in and play in somebody else’s world. That’s how I started, as an actor. I really enjoy being on other people’s sets, especially if I have cool things to do. It’s all the fun and much less of the responsibility.”
Jon Favreau never really left the Marvel Cinematic Universe when you take into consideration that he was executive producing Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Iron Man 3. Nonetheless, it is great to see the man back on set and in another film as the loyal Happy Hogan. Who knows? Maybe the man will direct a fourth Iron Man film if that ever happens.
