[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he playable character roster continues to be revealed for NeverRealm’s sequel. Injustice 2 is upping the ante and looks to be a worthy successor. Blue Beetle and Wonder Women were revealed at San Diego Comic Con and now the two stars of DC’s much-maligned movie, Suicide Squad, have their own trailer courtesy of this week’s Gamescom.

Quinn and Deadshot are both characters who don’t really match up with the upper echelon heroes & villians in terms of power level but Injustice makes it work by looking great with its appropriately quirky aesthetic. The original, released in 2013, was successful financially and critically–even spawning a popular run of comics. Injustice 2 looks to be a bigger, badder version of its predecessor with its roster shaping up to include all of the most popular characters in DC continuity. Fans should also expect more characters to be available after the games launch as DLC has become the norm in the industry.
Stay tuned to Geek Outpost all week for more Gamescom news and trailers.
Injustice 2 is set to be released in 2017 for all major systems.
