Real talk:
Edgar Wright is awesome. This English writer/director is responsible for some of the most cherished films in all geek-dom, specifically Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy: Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End.
If Edgar Wright wants to see something happen, than it probably should. In this case, he’s campaigning for Anna Kendrick to play Squirrel Girl.
In a series of tweets, Wright called attention to the number of actors who appeared in Scott Pilgrim that would go onto be superheroes for Marvel or DC. Kendrick, who costarred in the film, has never portrayed a superhero before, and Wright wants that to change.
In Scott Pilgrim: Superman, Cap America, Human Torch, Punisher, Cap Marvel, Lego Robin & The Atom. Get @AnnaKendrick47 a Squirrel Girl film.

@AnnaKendrick47 In this movie you have to fight all those other characters. Deal?

As shown above, Kendrick seems to be onboard. Last month, the actress showed interest in the role after her brother told her she would be a perfect fit.
For the uninitiated, Squirrel Girl, aka Doreen Green, possesses a handful of squirrel-themed abilities, namely a big bushy tail. Doreen grew up idolizing Iron Man, and eventually became a costumed hero to follow in his footsteps.
Do not underestimate Doreen. Through her cunny wit and army of nut-loving mammals at her side, Squirrel Girl has taken down both Thanos and Doctor Doom in the comics.
I’m not kidding.
We think Kendrick would be a perfect fit for Squirrel Girl, but it all comes down to Marvel Studios to make the call.
Come on Marvel, we all know who’s really going to defeat Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
