Welcome to the Jam

Under the pact, according to Variety, Amazon Prime Video will have 33 titles from the Warner Bros. library to stream exclusively. Films such as Ocean’s Eleven (2001), Space Jam, and The Wedding Singer are available now for exclusive streaming. In the following months, more titles will be added to Amazon Prime Video, including heavy hitters like Full Metal Jacket, the Matrix trilogy, and the first three Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

According to a study by Barclays, Amazon Prime had about four times the number of movies available for streaming than Netflix did as of the end of March. The exclusive pact would seem like it would hurt Netflix, there are two factors that will turn some heads. One being that the pact only lasts until the end of 2016, which is quite a short amount of time. At the end of the pact, Netflix has an opportunity to acquire those films for themselves. Two, starting from September to indefinitely, Netflix will be streaming all of Disney’s films including Lucasfilm, Marvel, and Pixar titles. With this in consideration, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix are still playing in the same ball field, but with their own strengths.

Amazon is exclusively streaming the following Warner Bros. movies as of now: The American President, Barcelona, Good Night, And Good Luck, Grumpier Old Men, JFK, Mystic River, Ocean’s Eleven (2001), See Spot Run, Space Jam, Storytelling, Twister and The Wedding Singer.
