If Squirrel Girl ever joins the MCU, it’d be nuts if they didn’t cast Kendrick!
[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]oreen Green, aka Squirrel Girl, has an ever growing fan-base in the world of Marvel comics. The hugely entertaining superhero’s popularity skyrocketed after Marvel rebooted her adventures with The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl last year, and ever since, fans have been hoping to see Doreen make her debut in the MCU.
Squirrel Girl’s one of the more light-hearted superheroes, who has a humorous, meta-like take on the superhero way of life. Green also has some fun abilities such as superhuman agility, razor sharp claws, retractable knuckle spikes, and, of course, the ability to talk to squirrels.
She would undoubtedly be one very fun new addition to the MCU, and with a whole wave of Marvel films and TV shows set to take over our screens in the coming years (with the 4th planned Marvel phase), there has already been a lot of fan chatter about the possibility of seeing Squirrel Girl included in future projects.
Naturally with all this discussion surrounding a live-action Squirrel Girl, talk quickly turned to who could fill her shoes. Pitch Perfect’s Anna Kendrick is currently the most popular choice amongst fans, and many have cited her as their dream casting choice should a Squirrel Girl TV show or movie ever happen.
Well, fans will be happy to know Kendrick seems to be pretty keen on the idea herself. In an interview with Net-A-Porter (via Screenrant), Kendrick expressed her interest in the role when asked what superhero she would love to play if she ever got the chance:
“My brother sent me a Squirrel Girl comic because he thinks I should [play her]. I don’t know what Squirrel Girl does other than be half squirrel, but I could be half squirrel!”
Kudos to Anna’s brother. If Squirrel Girl did ever join the MCU, we couldn’t think of anyone more fitting than Kendrick, and since she’s clearly on board with the idea, it’s certainly not outside the realms of possibility.

We really do hope Squirrel Girl pops up in the MCU in future, and we’d certainly be all for Kendrick taking up the role.
