Guardians of the Galaxy have been downsized to guarding only a tower in a Disney theme park.
A rumor has been spreading around Disneyland to remake the famous “Tower of Terror” ride into a Guardians of the Galaxy themed attraction. Micechat.com confirmed this rumor just a few days ago. Apparently, the plan is for the Twilight Zone story to be taken out in it’s entirety, and be replaced by a show centered around the Collector (played by Benicio Del Toro) from GotG. The story first leaked back in April, and the executives for Disneyland were apparently pretty furious when they heard.
The plan for the building is for it to be closed this fall for exterior and interior refurbishment, with the new attraction scheduled to open up sometime around May of 2017-just in time for the premier of the next Guardians movie! This is the first step in a multi-year plan that Disney is taking to bring the Marvel Universe in to Disneyland Theme Parks, and is being pushed heavily by the new parks chairman, Bob Chapek.
If all goes well, we’ll start seeing more Marvel themed rides (not to mention Star Wars Land coming in late 2018) making their way into everyone’s favorite theme park!
What do you think about Disneyland finally getting some Marvel-themed rides?
