For an actor who has had multiple roles in his acting career, this would be a new one!
[dropcap size=small]J[/dropcap]eff Goldblum has enjoyed an illustrious acting career. Roles that he has had include Dr. Ian Malcolm in the first two Jurassic Park movies and David Levinson in Independence Day. But seeing as the superhero movie industry popularity has spiked in recent years, it’s only natural that he would have interest in a role somewhere in that industry.
In a recent interview with MTV, Goldblum hinted at his interest in playing a role in a superhero movie. When asked if he had any offers from Marvel or DC, Goldblum teased them with this response: “I can say very little right now, but you might be on to something.”
Later, Goldblum was asked whether his allegiance is with Marvel or DC, he countered with another question: “What’s the difference? They’re both comic franchises.” Goldblum has a very different persona when it comes to interviewing him. But he did end the interview by saying “…watch this space.”
With how successful Goldblum has been in his career, I wouldn’t be surprised to find him in a superhero movie in the near future. Maybe not as a superhero, but as we have seen, not every key character is a superhero in a superhero movie. Some could even say that he would fit the role of a villain. But that discussion is for another day.
When discussing future superhero movies, most people do not discuss their roles straight up, instead they hint at things that we are made to debate about. As far as what movie he could be cast in for the near future, that’s a tossup and could be anybody’s guess. As far as what is guarenteed, Goldblum will be on the big screen on June 24th when he returns to his role as David Levinson in Independence Day 2: Resurgence.
