The first line: “Good thing that fight with Superman was just a dream.”
The general consensus on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice seems to be that although the film itself isn’t so great, Ben Affleck killed it as the Caped Crusader.
Fans have since been clamoring for more Batfleck, and now it seems like we might get a solo Batman flick sooner than later.
The Hollywood Reporter has spoken with William Morris Endeavor co-CEO Patrick Whitesell (a representative of Affleck’s talent agency), who has revealed that a solo Batman movie script has already been written by Affleck himself.
“He’s contracted to do at least Justice League [Part] One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape.” Whitesell explained, “There’s a script that he’s written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that’s out there as an option.”
We’ve heard rumblings of a solo Batfleck film as early as last summer, only the report then was Affleck would be directing the film and co-writing the script with DC Comics writer Geoff Johns, and that the movie would most likely release in 2018.
Nothing official has yet to be confirmed, as a Batman movie currently isn’t on the DC film slate, and Affleck’s only confirmed upcoming projects are Justice League Part One and Two, and his film Live by Night, scheduled to release October 20, 2017.
However, it’s looking more and more likely that we’ll see Affleck’s Dark Knight fly solo, and we can’t wait.
