Fantastic Four is no more?
It looks like Fox is quietly killing the Fant4stic sequel.
Comicbook reports that 20th Century Fox has officially removed Fantastic Four 2 from their release schedule.
Of course, this isn’t a big surprise.
Fant4stic was met with dismal reviews (we hated it), and made only $168 million worldwide on a $120 million budget.
The film’s failure lead to speculation (and rumors), that Fox had sold the Fantastic Four rights back to Marvel in order to make X-Men television shows.
Fox has since clarified that they still retain these rights.
Although the sequel is no longer scheduled to be coming out two summers from now, this doesn’t mean Fant4stic is really dead…They could pop up in an X-Men movie, or in some other ungodly manner.
However, chances are Fant4stic may be gone for good.
Fantastic Four 2 will not hit theaters on June 9, 2017.
