They’re so magical!
[dropcap size=small]E[/dropcap]ntertainment Weekly recently covered the upcoming Harry Potter prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which stars the likes of Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrel, Ron Perlman and Samantha Morton.
The prequel is set 70 years before Harry’s day, and will focus on zoologist Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne), who was the Wizard responsible for the academic textbook perused by Harry at Hogwarts, the film titles namesake – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
The photos show the cast looking the part in their period appropriate costume, against the backdrop of 1929 in New York.
The impressive array of actors showcase a promising variety of interesting characters set within J.K. Rowlings fictional wizarding world, including A Fine Frenzy singer Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstien (centre right), Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski (right), and Katherine Waterson as Porpentina (left).
Redmayne certainly looks like he suits the part, and easily fits into the period costume of the late 20’s.
The director of four Harry Potter films in the franchise, David Yates, is back in the directors seat to bring Rowling’s original screenplay to the big screen. Below, Yates can be seen directing Sudol in her role as Queenie.
These photo’s give us a little taster of the brilliant cast as they immerse themselves in Rowling’s world, and it shows us all the potential of being a great prequel. Its certainly great for all the hungry Potter fans out there, yearning for another slice of Rowling’s colourful fictional characters, and her much loved magical world.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is due out in theatres 18 November, 2016.
