Moriarty plans on keeping his role a secret until the upcoming Bond film is released.
British actor Andrew Scott is perhaps best known as portraying Jim Moriarty, the elusive criminal and foil to Sherlock in the BBC series of the same name.
It now appears that Scott will be portraying another mysterious character, as the actor refuses to discuss whom he is really playing in the upcoming Bond film, Spectre.
Scott’s character in Spectre, the twenty-forth James Bond film, is called Max Denbigh, a member of the British government. Not much else is known about the character, and Scott wants to keep it that way.
“That would spoil the fun, wouldn’t it?” Scott explained to The Guardian, in response to them probing him for more information on his character.
“Let’s put it this way. I get to wear great suits and do a lot of really fun, proper James Bondy stuff,” said Scott.
He went on to hint that his character will have “some really funny lines,” but he neglected to go into further detail.
Could Scott be portraying a classic Bond character? Possibly, but the current Daniel Craig version of Bond is quickly becoming full of staple figures from the series.
Skyfall introduced us to Q, Moneypenny, a new M, and Christoph Waltz’s character in Spectre is heavily rumored to actually be Blofeld.
So whom does that leave? Is Scott playing Jaws? Or Oddjob??? We hope so.
Anyway, we’re sure Scott will give a great performance no matter who his character may really be.
Spectre comes to theaters on October 26 in the UK, and November 6 in the US.
