Summer is coming to a close, and that means it won’t be long before we’ll have new seasons of our favorite TV shows.
Here at Geek Outpost, we’re big fans of The CW’s shared DC Universe, so we would like to talk about what to expect in the upcoming seasons of Arrow, The Flash, and the new spin-off, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD!
Arrow-Season 4
Last season of Arrow ended with Oliver and Felicity (literally) driving off into the sunset after deciding that Starling City no longer needs the green archer. Also, Malcolm Merlyn has taken up the mantel of Ra’s al Ghul, and Thea has finally become the archer Speedy.
While new characters appearing in the upcoming season have been revealed, like Anarky and Mr. Terrific, as well as Double Down, it remains to be seen if/when we will see the return of Sara Lance.
When will Sara Lance return?
The last time we saw Sara Lance, aka The Canary, she was supposedly killed by a brainwashed Thea (it’s a long story). However, Sara is notorious for dying and then coming back to life, so it’s not really a question of if, more so of when.
The trailer for Legends of Tomorrow has already spoiled that Sara will be revived via Lazarus Pit at some point, and fight under the guise of “White Canary.” Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly that Sara’s resurrection will indeed be explored, but expect it to be complicated. Guggenheim explains, “We’re doing a really great episode that really tackles the question of Sara, death and resurrection. On Arrow, nothing is easy, so it’s not as simple as dumping her in the water.”
While we’re still in the dark as to when exactly we’ll see Sara, rest assured her fate, as well as resurrection as a whole, will be explored in the fourth season of Arrow.

The Flash-Season 2
The freshman season of The Flash ended with a bang, as Barry faced a giant black hole above Central City resulting from the time paradox created when he traveled back to the fateful night of his mother’s death. As evident from the prior sentence, The Flash was not afraid to indulge into a complex time-traveling narrative, and in no way was that a bad thing.
During the time crisis in the finale, we got a quick glimpse of the helmet of Jay Garrick, the first Flash in classic DC Comics continuity. We’ve known since Comic-Con that Garrick, as well as two other speedsters, will be appearing in this upcoming season, but what exactly does this mean for the rest of the cast?
How will Jay Garrick’s arrival affect the new season of The Flash?
While I can see Garrick being a mentor for Barry in this upcoming season as he explores his powers, Danielle Panabaker, who portrays Caitlyn Snow, confirms this, and more. “Jay Garrick’s arrival is going to have an impact on everybody on Team Flash,” Panabaker told Entertainment Weekly, “He’s going to be a very cool mentor to Barry and he’s going to help Barry expand his powers and the things that he’s capable of doing.”
With new speedy characters and a fantastic first season to work from, The Flash is gearing up to have a exciting sophomore outing.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow-Season 1
The last show to go over is none other than the latest spin-off from both Arrow and The Flash: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Starring a barrage of characters from both shows, including Ray Palmer/ The Atom, Martin Stein/Firestorm, Sara Lance/ The White Canary, and many more, there is perhaps only one big question to ask relating to this new “superhero team-up show.”
Will Legends of Tomorrow be good?
Well, hopefully. Based off the trailer (below), the show appears to have a tone similar to that of The Flash, meaning there will be complex comic book logic like time travel, but the show will remain light and fun whenever possible. With established characters from two popular shows, and no doubt a slew of cameos, keep Legends of Tomorrow on your radar.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will debut in January 2016.
