Call of Duty unseats Red Dead Redemption for most requested game!
[dropcap size=small]S[/dropcap]ince Microsoft released the Xbox One, fans wondered if they would still be able to play classic Xbox 360 games. When Microsoft announced last month at E3 that Xbox One will be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games, Xbox One sales increased drastically.Â
Shortly after E3, Microsoft published a poll on their website asking which Xbox 360 game fans would want the most support for re-releasing on the Xbox One. At the start of the poll, Black Ops 2 had the tops spot, then Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption was out on top. But as of today, Black Ops 2 has seized control of the number one spot. Here’s a list of the top 15 games requested by fans.Â
- Call of Duty: Black Ops II
- Red Dead Redemption
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- Halo: Reach
- Call of Duty: Black Ops
- Gears of War 3
- Fallout 3
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
- Mass Effect 3
- Call of Duty: World at War
- BioShock Infinite
- Fallout: New Vegas
- Left 4 Dead 2
It doesn’t surprise me that half of this list is made up of Call of Duty games. Even though Call of Duty was also made for Playstation, most of it’s fanbase is on Xbox. The rest of the list includes classics made in the last 5 years that deserve a spot on this list from the turnout of each game.Â
Microsoft wanted a way to see which games the fans wanted most because the company warned that not all games will be backwards compatible. There are only a few games that are backwards compatible right now. But Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, stated that backwards compatibility helped out with Xbox One sales. Microsoft promised their fans that they will make “hundreds of 360 games playable on Xbox One by the end of the year.
With all the games out there, which game would you like to see converted to have backwards compatible? Let us know here in the comments below!
