We’re proud to introduce Geek of the Week, the part of our site where we feature YOU!
Each week, we plan on giving spotlight to one of our fellow geeks, giving them a chance to show off their most prized collections and their, well… geekiness! This week our geek is Sebastian Ryl! We had a conversation with Sebastian and learned a little more about his collection and interests.
ROB: Sebastian! Tell us a little bit about your collection.
SEBASTIAN: It’s a combination of nostalgic and current pop culture, my collection features shows, movies and characters from my favorite entertainment. From superheroes, to anime and fantasy, I’ve been able to gather the Dragon Balls and wish for these awesome memorabilia. I work at a local movie theater, and I’m able to score some sweet posters and constantly rotate them on my walls. Being able to watch so many movies allows me to go out and grab my favorites to add to my collection.
Out of your entire collection, what are some of your favorite things?
My favorites from this collection include the Dragon Ball Z Pop! Vinyls, the Vault Boy bobblehead and the Captain America shield. However, the Vault Boy bobblehead is number one.
What’s your favorite geek memory?
Watching Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods in theaters. Seeing Goku kick ass on the big screen reinvigorated my love for DBZ, kind of like how the senzu bean helped the Z-Fighters.
You mentioned that you work in a movie theater, do you have a favorite movie?
Hard to pick just one, but I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
How about a favorite game?
Final Fantasy X.
Solid choice. What about TV show?
Game of Thrones.
Would you like to provide a means of contact information for anyone interested in trading?
No thanks! However, as I’ve been exploring the pop culture world more in-depth, I’ve started a YouTube channel with a friend. The channel features a podcast about games, shows and movies. Check us out on Twitter. Thanks, Geek Outpost, for featuring me as Geek of the Week!
Do you think you have what it takes to be next week’s Geek of the Week? Send an e-mail to rob@geekoutpost.com, explaining why you think you should be featured.
