[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap] new design for Valve’s Steam Controller has been leaked via Valvetime.
The version above is similar to another version that was revealed back in July, but with the addition of a type of D-pad near the left analog stick.
The image was pulled from files within the latest Steam Client Beta update. The purpose of the D-pad is not known, but it’s being suggested that it may tweak traditional D-pad functionality by allowing more directional motion as opposed to the common up-down-left-right.
There’s been no word on when we can expect the Steam Controllers to be released. They were believed to go on sale by the end of 2014, but obviously that’s not happening.
Valve isn’t expected to show its latest developments until the 2015 Game Developers Conference in March.
