[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he Xbox General Manager of Japan, Takashi Sensui, has stepped out of his role a midst dismal sales in the region. Despite his vacating the role, Sensui has not been dismissed from the company. After his resignation from the GM position, he was instated as General Manager for the Interactive Entertainment Business and will now report to Xbox VP Mike Nichols as well as serve as a contact between the U.S. and Japanese branches of Xbox.

Microsoft has only sold 40,000 Xbox One units in Japan since the launch back in September. This incredibly poor performance has prompted other moves in the Japanese branch of the company. With Sensui leaving the GM spot, Yoshinami Takahashi and Nobuyoshi Yokoi are now in charge of the business.

In comparison to the 40,000 Xbox One units sold in Japan over 3 months, the Xbox 360 sold 159,000 units in the same time, 62,000 of those in the first two days.
