Brace yourselves, Spider-Verse fans—“Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” is officially swinging into theaters on June 4, 2027. Yeah, that’s a two-year wait, but apparently, good things take time. Or at least, that’s what producer Phil Lord and co-directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson are banking on. They admitted at CinemaCon that rushing the finale would be a disaster, so they’re taking the extra years to “get it just right.”
Lord hyped the movie as a “massive finale” to the trilogy that kicked off with 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse and continued with 2023’s Across the Spider-Verse. With Chris Miller returning to co-write, they’re promising a payoff worth the wait.

Plot details are still mostly under wraps, but Lord teased that Miles Morales starts the movie on the run from every Spider-Person in the multiverse. Because why just save the world when you can also be hunted by everyone who ever wore the suit? Gwen Stacy and the rest of Miles’ Spidey squad will be around, but whether they’re enough to help him save his family is anyone’s guess.
The sneak peek shown at CinemaCon flaunted the series’ signature trippy, stylized animation, with Miles defiantly declaring he’s doing things “his way.” Considering Into the Spider-Verse pulled in $384 million and won an Oscar, while Across the Spider-Verse raked in a staggering $690 million, it’s safe to say expectations are sky-high.
Oh, and Lord made sure to emphasize the new movie is being prepped specifically for “the biggest screens”—because apparently, “visually insane” was the goal from day one.
2027 feels like a lifetime away, but hey, if Marvel’s taught us anything, it’s that we’re all willing to wait for a multiverse-sized payoff.
