Quite recently, Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige spoke about the future of Deadpool within the MCU. We know already that a third Deadpool film is happening and we know that it will be R-Rated, and we also know that it will be within the walls of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What we don’t know is when it is coming… but Kevin Feige and Ryan Reynolds do.
During his recent chat, Feige was specifically asked about ‘Deadpool 3′ and if he knows when it will happen. Here is his exact quote on the subject:
“We do. And the script is in the works and Ryan is working very hard on it with our writers as we speak.”
According to sources, Ryan Reynolds has teamed up with the writers of Bob’s Burgers, Lizzie and Wendy Molyneaux, to pen the script after Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese departed the franchise.
While we do not know much about the plan for introducing the “merc with a mouth” into the MCU, especially with its R-Rating, it has been suggested that this will be a sequel to Deadpool 2 and not a reboot. However, it is important to take that with a grain of salt since we hear the movie is planned to film in 2022 some time meaning anything can change before the cameras roll (and possibly even during or after).
Deadpool 3 does not have a confirmed release date yet but the higher-ups at Marvel Studios likely know when they want the movie to hit theaters. No other details are currently known at this time.
