Rumors suggest Tiamut may offer up Adamantium and could be turned into Genosha island.

Since the release of “Eternals” in 2021, the enormous, frozen Celestial statue that the Eternals prevented from destroying Earth has largely been overlooked in the MCU. Despite its massive presence, it has scarcely been mentioned, save for a few easter eggs. This is set to change with the upcoming release of “Captain America: Brave New World.”

The trailer for ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ hints at the Celestial’s significance in the new movie. Briefly depicted in the trailer, missiles are seen being launched near the statue, indicating that it will play a key role in the storyline. This revelation aligns with several rumored leaks and theories about the movie’s plot, suggesting that the Celestial is more than just a background element.

One major theory is that the deceased Celestial, known as Tiamut, has been identified as a source of rare material, sparking a global struggle for control over it. This conflict is illustrated by the missile launches shown in the trailer. Another speculation is that this rare material could be Adamantium, a nearly indestructible metal that is integral to Wolverine’s skeleton and claws, thus potentially linking to the X-Men.

Further theories suggest that Tiamut might even become Genosha, a sanctuary for mutants in the comics, though this remains unconfirmed. Additionally, there are reports that the Thunderbolts might be connected to Genosha in their film, but we do not know for certain at this point. As it stands, no known characters in “Captain America: Brave New World” are associated with Adamantium, but the movie’s villains, including The Leader, Red Hulk, and Giancarlo Esposito’s character, might change that by the film’s end.

This storyline seems to be part of Marvel’s gradual introduction of the X-Men into the MCU. The initial hint came with Ms. Marvel being revealed to have the mutant gene, but a full introduction of the X-Men likely won’t happen until future Avengers films or later. For now, fans will have to make do with these teasers and the imminent arrival of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the MCU.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to release February 2025.
