THE DROP
This new crime drama takes the audience deep into the underground world of money laundering in Brooklyn. As the town gangsters use designated bars as drops to move money around, an unsuspecting bartender named Bob Saginowski (Tom Hardy) finds himself in the middle of a robbery gone bad and a police investigation that uncovers a dark past. It’s also worth mentioning that this is James Gandolfini’s last film since his passing in June 2013.

MAPS TO THE STARS
Not much can be understood about the plot by watching this trailer; however, it did manage to grab my attention. The story primarily follows the Weiss family, a stereotypical Hollywood family comprised of a father (John Cusack) who is a TV psychologist, a mother (Olivia Williams) who manages their child star son, Benjie who just got out of rehab at age 13, and daughter Agatha (Mia Wasikowska) who was checked into a medical center to treat her pyromania. Upon her release, Agatha begins working as a personal assistant to a famous actress named Havana Segrand (Julianne Moore) who is struggling with seeing visions of her mother’s ghost as she prepares to star in a remake of the same film and role that originally made her mother famous.

EXTRATERRESTRIAL
No, this isn’t an E.T. remake. As a group of friends retreat to a cabin in the woods for a weekend getaway, an alien spacecraft crash lands nearby and they realize that they are being observed by one of the UFO’s survivors. The group takes it upon themselves to kill the alien and then all hell breaks loose. Amid the chaos and abductions, the military gets involved and it appears that the government has had some sort of “agreement” with the aliens all along. Apparently involving anal probes.
