[dropcap size=small]U[/dropcap]ntil now Mario Kart has been limited to the Mario universe, but today it was announced that Link, F-Zero and Animal Crossings, will be added to the mix – via DLC. But wait, there’s more! Let’s break it down.
There will be two DLC packs: The first pack will be available this November and it adds Link, Cat-Suit Peach and Tanooki-Suit Mario plus four new vehicles and eight more tracks.
The second pack adds the Villager and Isabelle from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Skelatal Dry Bowser along with four more vehicles and another eight tracks. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait until May of next year for this one.
The official announcement reads, “The Add On Content packs include classics like Wario’s Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, as well as new courses, some taking place in the worlds of The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. New vehicles will also arrive with each pack, including the Blue Falcon kart representing the F-Zero franchise in the first AOC pack.”
Each pack will cost an estimated $8.
