We don’t really know much about Black Myth: Wukong as it sort of went under our radar until we stumbled across this incredible gameplay trailer. Using Unreal Engine 5, Black Myth: Wukong looks beyond fantastic. Take a look for yourself at this upcoming RPG from developer Game Science.

Note that everything you are about to see was captured in-game and in real-time.

Holy shit.

In the video above, the game is running Unreal Engine 5 at 4K and 60 frames per second. Also boasting support for ray-tracing, DLSS tech, and Dolby Atmos, Black Myth: Wukong had us intrigued but now it has our attention. With mind-blowing visuals, action-packed combat, interesting spells, and unique boss encounters, BM: W is shaping up to be something truly special.

Black Myth: Wukong is described as being similar to Dark Souls, so expect that it will be really hard and really unforgiving when you make a mistake. The player takes control of the Monkey King, Sun Wukong, as the character takes on enemies and learns new abilities inspired by “16th-century traditional Chinese folklore” and Journey to the West.

Game Science has said that the game is coming to PC with plans to bring it consoles at some point around 2023, though this is subject to change. Based on their comments, we feel strongly that given the use of Nvidia’s tech that the game will take clear advantage of, it will come out for PC first. Game Science’s plan is to release the game first and possibly release future DLCs but all of this isn’t set in stone just yet.

I really hope this game is coming to Steam as seeing the Epic Games logo at the end really took the wind out of my sails, so to speak. Regardless, as development continues, we will be covering news about Black Myth: Wukong a lot going forward as this is one PC game we absolutely can’t wait to get our hands on. Unless it is an Epic Games exclusive. If so, we may just wait for console…
