According to TVLine, HBO is planning on rebooting True Blood with Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa as the executive producer.
Additionally, Jami O’Brien will be writing the pilot with Aguirre-Sacasa and he will also be an executive producer for the series. But more importantly, it appears Alan Ball, who created the original True Blood for HBO back in 2008 and served as show runner for five of the shows seven seasons will be returning as well.
The original True Blood series was based off Charlaine Harris’ Southern Vampire Mysteries novels and became a smashing success for HBO.
