“The anime smash hit that’s swept the world now makes its debut on the big screen! Our favorite young hero-in-training is in for a wild ride when villains threaten the artificial moving city, I-Island.”
PLOT:
Deku and All Might receive an invitation to I-Expo, the world’s leading exhibition of Quirk abilities and hero item innovations!Amid the excitement, sponsors, and pros from all over, Deku meets Melissa, a girl who is Quirkless just like he once was. Nearly all of your favorite characters are back in this first ever cinematic experience featuring a new, canon storyline with the heroes of UA. The action and drama are bigger and better than ever, literally (since it’s on a movie screen). I won’t share any further details beyond the plot outline above, but if you have any reservations about seeing this film in a theater, throw that aside and order your tickets as soon as you can because you do not want to regret missing out.
This past week, FUNimation was kind enough to extend an invite to attend their world premiere red carpet event in downtown Los Angeles at the Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE 14, and it was an event to remember to be sure.
Buzzing with life and full of influencers and industry talent, the red carpet event was swarming with cameras and lights from our own GO team, to our friends at ComicBook.com. Speaking with the likes of Brennan Mejia of Power Rangers, to YouTuber Kaitlin Witcher, every individual in attendance was excited to experience the film for the first time with FUNimation’s English voice cast.

The spectacle of seeing Deku and All Might on the big screen together with explosive energy combined with the excellent performances from Briner and Sabat (the former of whom was in attendance), truly live up to fan expectation when it comes to My Hero Academia. And you are one of those who prefer to see the film with subtitles rather than an English dub, you are definitely in luck, as the film will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles Sept 26 & Oct 2 while you can catch the film in English from Sept 25, 27 & 29. You can check out whether the movie will be playing with the respected languages on those dates on the official FUNimation website.
