Is John Cleese in league with DC?
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]onder Woman and Justice League are the two big DC releases set to hit the big screens this year, and with The Flash and Aquaman to follow in 2018, DC’s Extended Universe is well and truly on the road to expansion. Whilst the films will establish some of DC’s biggest heroes, it’ll also bring us a whole host of minor characters and supporting roles, and one such role may have gone to Monty Python’s John Cleese.
Cleese has been mingling with some big names involved in DC movie land on social media, and thanks to a recent tweet Cleese posted (via ComicBook.com) showing the actor with a small pile of DC comics, fans have hooked onto the idea that there may be some truth in the rumour surrounding Cleese’s involvement in a DC project.

The comics accompanying Cleese include Justice League: Origin, The Dark Knight Returns and Batman: The Black Mirror. We currently don’t know what character Cleese could be playing, but since Batman is the one common factor linking up all three comics, his role would probably be in some way linked to Batfleck.
If he does have a role, it really is anyone’s guess at this point, but we would love to see Cleese pop up in the DC extended universe on the big screens.
Wonder Woman is due to hit theatres 2 June 2017, with Justice League to follow 17 November 2017.
